Prof. Dr. Ana Aslan

Professor Dr. Ana Aslan is a name, a legend of a life dedicated to people. She is one of the most important figures in the world, considered to be the “parent” of gerontology and geriatrics. She has never accepted aging as a destiny: “I declared war to aging. As gerontologist, and geriatrician, I have to explain people what means to be old and what they have to do for improving the quality of their lives” (Ana Aslan).

She dedicated her entire life for researching the causes of aging. She knew how important and decisive a healthy skin is for a young appearance.

Prof. Dr. Ana Aslan: “To be young forever doesn’t mean to be 20 years old. It means to be optimist, to feel good, to have an ideal to fight for and to achieve it”.

Prof. Dr. Ana Aslan’s philosophy on how to preserve your youth is very well traced in the few advices that should be followed by all those who wish to stay young and active over time:

• rational nutrition, the secret for a long life;
• walks outside, physical exercises;
• eliminate stress, which leads to premature aging;
• use adequate cosmetics for mature skin;
• find recreational activities and avoid loneliness;
• use music and color therapy to eliminate depression;
• prevent chronicle illnesses;

Under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Ana Aslan, the Geriatric Institute in Bucharest comes to life in 1952. The Geriatric Institute in Bucharest was the first of its kind in the world and was recommended by the World Health Organization.

The Gerovital H3 concept was introduced for the first time in 1957, in Verona , Italy , on the occasion of the 4th International Gerontology Congress.
